Late lectures, society nights, and part-time shifts often mean walking home after dark. This is the student-safe route system that reduces risk.

1) Plan Before You Leave

  • Choose lit routes with active footfall
  • Avoid shortcut lanes and isolated parks at night
  • Keep emergency contacts pinned at top of phone
  • Set an expected arrival-time check-in

2) Walk Like Someone Hard to Target

  • Head up, pace steady, phone away unless necessary
  • No noise-cancelling audio while walking alone
  • Cross roads early if someone feels wrong
  • Trust discomfort; change route before pressure builds

3) If You Think You're Being Followed

  1. Do not go straight home
  2. Move to a busy shop, takeaway, or staffed location
  3. Call emergency services if threat escalates
  4. Contact a trusted person and stay visible
